/ Drops - Room For London

  • Project Name: Drops - Room For London
  • Location: Queen Elisabeth Hall, London, UK
  • Year: 2010
  • Area: 90 m2
  • Stages: Competition
  • Client: Living Architecture
  • Project description:
The task of this competition was to design a unique sustainable space for a "one room hotel" on top of the "Queen Elisabeth Hall". The temporary building was supposed to be installed for the time period of the Olympic Games 2012. Our design suggested a spatial abstraction of two unifying water drops. From the top the drops symbolising two of the five Olympic rings. The landscape is adding the other three to complete the symbol. The project was designed in collaboration with “motionarchitecture", London and Raffaele Oppido, Rome.
